ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Requirements
Design and engineer systems related to technical infrastructure used to support all data centre installations in the core estate
Provide onsite technical support for all Electrical related issues, with complementary specialisms, to the delivery of core projects
Act as “on the ground” representation for the core stakeholders and Lifecycle Design team in the core operational estate
Ensuring all M & E standards are kept up to date, in conjunction with other departments and that projects follow codes relevant to local compliance
Developing depth in own specialism while appreciating and learning complementary areas.
Scope
The senior electrical engineer will work closely with colleagues in all aspects of design engineering. Primarily focussed on subject matter expertise based design of electrical systems, including the management of external parties to deliver project outcomes as needed. The senior electrical engineer will work closely with other senior engineers, sharing ideas and on occasion cross-resourcing to support the team. They will support technical liaison with all teams across the business, including wider support of customer solutions, commercial and sales opportunities or other work streams as identified by the business.
Skills
The senior electrical engineer shall have demonstratable experience in their field. Specific and applicable experience and knowledge of engineering systems deployed within data centres, with focus on electrical engineering as well as co-learnt experience in complementary systems such as electrical plant. They shall hold extensive experience of managing a design process and a full understanding of factors that may influence a successful engineering outcome, especially in the case of adversity. The candidate will have time-served demonstrable experience of working with different stakeholders to assist in the delivery of technical projects. Candidates will be able to demonstrate experience gained in more than one country – typically by short duration project visits – or equivalent life experience (not necessarily engineering) from earlier roles or personal travel, as well as hold recognised engineering qualifications through experiential or academic learning.
Language skills in English with intermediate to advanced level, spoken and written are required.
